Pre-K Sponge Painted Fall Trees

Pre-school artists used sponges in tempera paint to paint their fall trees.  They cut out trunks and branches from brown paper, then glued the trees into a class fall forest. 

First and Second Butterflies

First and Second graders watched a several butterfly video clips and read "Velma Gratch and the Way Cool Butterfly."  We learned that monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico in the winter and that deforestation is destroying their winter homes.  We also learned about metamorphosis.

First and second grade artists used black acrylic paint to outline the butterflies, then painted them with watercolors.
