Turkeys!

First and Second grade artists made turkeys to decorate for our annual school Thanksgiving lunch.  These are the most colorful turkeys you've ever seen!

We are Thankful!

Fayston students have so much to be thankful for!  We celebrated the true meaning of THANKSgiving by working in small groups to paint pictures of the things we are thankful for.

We are thankful for our families.

We are thankful for living in a beautiful place!

We are thankful for our warm homes.

I'm the Best!

Kindergarten artists read "I'm the Best," by Lucy Cousins.    This book has beautiful watercolor paintings.  Kindergartners recognized that when Dog said "I'm the best," it hurt his friends feelings.  We talked about the things that we are each good at and then painted watercolor pictures in the styles of Cousins' illustrations.
Here are Kindergarten artists painting "I'm good at..." pictures.

Explorers' Ships

Fifth and Sixth grade artists studied explorers.  We used oil pastels and charcoal to draw our favorite explorer's ship.

The Red Book and Red Paintings

Pre-K artists read The Red Book by Barbara Lehman

Then we made red paintings.  Our paintings included red apples, roses, birds, fire trucks and much more!

Fayston Circus Performance

At the end of our two weeks with our artist-in-residence Troy Wunderle, they Fayston School was transformed into a Big Top! All students, and even the teachers, showed off astounding circus skills.
